My name is Emilie Clay and I am the summer 2024 intern for Knox Sports! I am a rising senior at the University of Tampa, on track to graduate in May 2025. I am double majoring in both Sport Management and Marketing. I grew up in Southborough, Massachusetts, and still visit home during school breaks and some summers.
I grew up in a household centered around sports and played various sports until I became most focused on basketball as I got older. Playing basketball taught me so many valuable lessons and has shaped me to be who I am today. Upon going to college, I knew I would no longer be playing the sport, but wanted to keep it in my life, as it is something I am very passionate about. I also love to watch sports, and being from Massachusetts, I am a huge Patriots and Celtics fan. I support all Boston teams, but I love watching basketball and football the most. Watching sports has always been a bonding time for my family and I, and that is one of my favorite things about sports- they bring people together. One of my favorite times of the year is in March, during March Madness as well, where I will create multiple brackets, and root for my favorite college team, UConn! I find this to be incredibly exciting, and I love watching all of the upsets that happen throughout the tournament.
Aside from sports, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to the beach, being active at the gym and outside, and being with my dogs when I am home. I love animals, especially dogs, and I have two at home, Maisy (golden retriever) and Chaz (golden doodle mix), who are a huge part of my life when I am home. I love and miss them very much and wish I could bring them to Tampa!
After graduation, I am interested in working for the professional or collegiate side of either football or basketball, possibly doing marketing, social media, or event planning. I am also interested in working in the golf industry. Currently, my options are very open and flexible, and I am thrilled to discover my passion and strengths within the industry. I hope to work with people at a company or organization who are also passionate about sports and what they do.
I am very excited to be interning with Knox and to grow professionally and personally while learning as much as I can!
