Knox Sports Marketing history began in 1997 in Clearwater, Florida. Founder Paul Sickmon started the company after 5 years in the athletic department at FSU and a decade as the Director of Sponsorship & Advertising with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Honduras 2021

We returned to Honduras. While there, we delivered over 600 uniforms to kids in four villages as well as aided in building a house for a family who lost their home in a hurricane.


Knox Sports is excited and honored to name Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as one of our clients. TMH has recently been named by U.S. News as a Best Hospital in Florida, and we are looking forward to shepherding their sports negotiation and execution efforts in their region.

February 2021

Taylor joined Knox Sports in February 2021. Taylor has Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a minor in Public Relations/Advertising from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Cognate in Literacy from the UNF.

Uncle Charley’s committed to joining the Knox Sports client family in November of 2020, and we are pleased to announce that they have just entered into a partnership with the Cleveland Indians as the Official Sausage of the Indians.

Auburn, Alabama’s Chicken Salad Chick joins the Knox Sports client roster as they remake all their collegiate sponsorship contracts throughout the South. Using online codes and social cues to track new customers, these unique promotions made a splash in Minor League Baseball a year later.

Knox Sports acquires Polk’s Meats as a new client. Polk’s carved out enticing new partnerships with Mississippi State, Alabama and Minor League Baseball teams all over the South serving Polk’s Meats in the stands.

Knox Sports takes a trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for mission work. We donated soccer uniforms, assisted in building an indoor soccer field and donated school supplies and sports equipment to a local school.

Knox Sports is hired to oversee first outbound brand campaign for startup Bank of St. Petersburg. The USF athletic platform-based program helps Bank achieve all their commercial revenue goals in under 6 months.

Sponsorship Consultation Client list grows to 13 and on behalf of Honduras’ Banco Ficohsa, Knox Sports gets involved in World Cup for the first time.

September 2002

Knox Sports served as the lead consultant for the new naming rights deal representing the St. Petersburg Times as they closed the contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the “St. Pete Times Forum”.

December 2001

Awarded Youth Sports Contract from Land O’Frost to create and execute the single most successful youth sports sponsorship program in the US. Today Knox Sports manages the LOF program which sponsors over 13,000 teams in 28 US cities and took Land O’Frost from 8th in lunch meat sales in 2001 to 3rd today!”

For the first ever Devil Rays game played in Tropicana Field, Knox Sports was tabbed by GTE (now Verizon) to create and distribute the Opening Day giveaway.
