Where are they now?

We’re thankful to have contacts, relationships, and past interns all over the sports world!

Take a look at some of our past interns and their successes.

David Hiller

Title: Director, Partnership Development

Company/Team: New York City FC / City Football Group

“My internship with Knox Sports provided a foundational understanding of the sponsorship landscape and directly shaped my approach as a sales professional. By helping create, edit, and review contract execution summaries for NCAA Division I sponsorship clients, I developed a clear grasp of how partnerships are structured, activated, and measured. Beyond the project work, daily conversations and mentorship with Paul and the entire Knox team were invaluable. Those lunches and day‑to‑day interactions gave me a holistic view of the sports marketing ecosystem—team and league side, agency side, and brand side—which only helped me navigate my initial interest area(s).”

Emilie Clay

Title: Group Sales Account Executive

Company/Team: Orlando City Soccer Club & Orlando Pride

Knox Sports was a great introduction for me to the sports business world. I learned so much about how sport sponsorship works and how many different ways you can put together a package to be a benefit to different clients’ needs. Presenting my pitch to the staff really helped me become comfortable with public speaking and how to position things so that the client can see the benefit. That is something I use every day in my job when selling different ticket packages and experiences to my clients. Additionally, it was great to learn from all of the staff over there at Knox, as they all have so much experience and knowledge in the industry. I could not recommend this enough to college students trying to get their start in sports!”

Jack Hagen

Title: Group Services Coordinator

Company/Team: Reno Aces

Interning at Knox Sports was my first experience in a professional office setting and it played a pivotal role in preparing me for my current position with the Aces. Sitting in on client calls helped me develop communication/client retention skills that I now use daily with our partners. Working in Minor League Baseball requires wearing many hats, and I first gained that experience at Knox Sports by working on a variety of projects, including social media content, prospecting, and writing podcast blogs (shoutout Knox Talk!). This internship program is truly one of a kind!”

Ryan Arnold

Title: Premium Account Executive

Company/Team: Orlando City Soccer Club

Knox Sports played a key role in preparing me for my position with Orlando City by helping develop my ability to communicate effectively with professionals. Conducting mock presentations with Paul and working closely with the rest of the Knox Sports staff made me more comfortable presenting and clearly articulating my ideas. That experience has directly translated to greater confidence when speaking with business owners and has contributed to my success in driving strong ticket sales with Orlando City.”

Jen Hope

Title: Vice President

Company/Team: Knox Sports Marketing

“My internship at Knox Sports in 2004 was not jus t an introduction to the industry, it was a defining chapter in shaping my path toward a career in sports marketing. I was gifted the opportunity to be exposed to the pace, pressure, operational demands, and client expectations that are commonplace in this industry, and was taught how to navigate through it all. Paul and Melissa helped me to develop the strategic mindset of a future executive, and taught me maybe the most important lesson of my career in that at its core, this industry is a relationship-driven business. I’ve carried this mantra with me throughout my 20-year career, including the last 18 years at Knox Sports.”

Emma Stewart

Title: Junior Sales Associate

Company/Team: New York Yankees

My experience conducting sponsorship research and assisting with customized proposals has directly prepared me for my role as a junior sales associate with the New York Yankees. By identifying and analyzing potential business partners, I developed strong prospecting skills that translate into targeting qualified leads in ticket sales. Creating tailored pitch materials strengthened my ability to sell based on client needs and communicate value effectively, while my understanding of ROI and fan engagement allows me to position ticket packages as strategic investments rather than simple purchases. Additionally, participating in client meetings and working on activation strategies enhanced my communication skills and ability to build relationships, helping me deliver a more consultative and impactful sales approach.”
