Meet Emmie:
Hello, my name is Emmie Riendeau, and I am the Knox Sports Marketing summer intern! I am an upcoming senior at the University of Tampa and graduating in the Spring of 2026. My major is in sport management with a business administration minor. On campus, I am a part of the Honors Program. I am from a small town in Maine. I grew up with my mom, dad, older sister, and two dogs. The contrast between there and Tampa is something I love. It makes life fun to switch back and forth throughout the year.
The small, yet beautiful campus at the University of Tampa is what drew me to the school. In addition, the sport management department provides us with a lot of opportunities and prepares us for a career in sports once we graduate. The weather is also a refreshing change from the cold and snowy winters in Maine. I help put on on-campus events for members of the UTampa Honors Program to attend in order to bring everyone together and make a welcoming environment for all members. Outside of school, I enjoy working out and going on walks, going to the beach, and watching baseball. I am also currently a fan host for the Tampa Bay Rays!
My love for Sports:
Growing up, I played a variety of sports and ultimately fell in love with track. I was a sprinter and the captain of my high school team. I grew up watching sports with my dad. Baseball and football are the two sports I enjoy the most. Being from New England, attending any professional sporting event is a blast. Attending games in person was something I really loved to do in my free time. Plus, Boston has the best atmosphere at any sporting event. There is nothing that compares to spending a summer night at Fenway Park. My best memories growing up are going to Red Sox games and competing at track meets with all my friends. My dad taught me a lot about the business behind sports, which is what led me to be interested in sports management as my major.
Future Plans:
After I graduate, I am hoping to work for a Major League Baseball team, although I’m still figuring out exactly what I want to do, but I am excited to gain more experiences and learn what is out there for me in the sport world. I can’t wait to gain more knowledge here at Knox Sports and am very honored to be a part of this organization and seize this opportunity.
