My name is Candice Lovelace and I am the fall intern at Knox Sports Marketing! I  am a senior at the University of South Florida. I am set to graduate in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communication and Multimedia Journalism. I am the fall intern for Knox Sports Marketing and I am excited to learn more of the ins and outs of social media and how to use social media as it relates to sports marketing. Learning more about the basics of editing photos and how to best utilize them for social media content is one skill I am hoping to fine-tune during my time here.

I am a huge Tampa Bay Lightning fan and have really enjoyed these past two seasons. Watching the Lightning win both Stanley Cups is something I will never forget.  I went to my first Lightning game back in 2011 with a youth group and instantly fell in love with the sport. I’ve been a huge Lightning fan ever since and have even had to chance to meet 15 players.

In my free time, you can find me at just about any Lightning event or running my boutique. I own a clothing and accessory boutique that specializes in women’s clothing that is both comfortable and affordable.

I also love to travel and go on missions’ trips with my church. I have had the privilege to serve in the Bahamas and Brazil while in high school and in 2019 I was also able to serve in Colombia and Germany. While in the Bahamas, we worked at Camp Bahamas in Eleuthera and held vacation Bible school for the children. In Brazil, we worked on two projects: building a church and a school. I worked on the church helping paint, lay tile and move dirt for the parking lot. During my time in Colombia, we worked on a property that is a children’s camp over the summer and a seminary school the rest of the year.  While in Germany we worked on two different churches laying flooring and painting. Each trip holds a special place in my heart.

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do after graduation. I really enjoy the writing aspect of Journalism and am currently contributing to USF’s student-run newspaper. My absolute dream job would be to be a beat writer for the Lightning.

From this internship, I’m hoping to gain a better understanding of what I want to do after graduation and to gain new and improved skills to take with me in my future career.
